The Alliance for Downtown New York, the non-profit business improvement district for Lower Manhattan, has launched the Lower Manhattan’s Explorer In Chief Summer Dream Job Contest that will move one lucky winner to New York City to document their once-in-a-lifetime experience living in Lower Manhattan during summer 2020.
The Alliance is seeking for an urban explorer with a keen eye and has the ability to produce compelling, entertaining content. To land this dream job, applicants must submit a video, of 60 seconds or less, between 2 and 15 March 2020, at 11:59p ET.
The winner of the contest will live in Lower Manhattan from June through August. Over three months, the Alliance will encourage the winner to pursue their own curiosity-fuelled and inspired ideas by providing access to unique experiences that will all add up to an amazing summer’s worth of adventures for the Explorer In Chief. Whether it’s VIP visits to the top attractions like the Statue of Liberty and One World Observatory, or entry to the hidden speakeasies, cultural gems and hot restaurants, the Explorer in Chief will get a singular opportunity to discover all that New York’s oldest — and newest — neighbourhood has to offer.
For three months, the Explorer In Chief will be employed by the Alliance and compensated for their work with a monthly stipend, paid expenses and free rent at premiere Downtown properties, kicking off with a long-term stay at the tech-enabled hospitality brand Sonder. In addition to amenities including co-working spaces, a library, a sky lounge and game room, Sonder will welcome the Explorer In Chief with top accommodations that include a kitchen as well as distinct living and sleeping spaces to make their stay comfortable.
