Travelex has been appointed as the exclusive foreign exchange provider at Munich Airport's newly opened Terminal 1E, marking a significant expansion for the company in Germany. The €665 million ($___) terminal, which opened on 21 April, is designed to handle up to six million long-haul passengers annually, catering to around 40 airlines.
The five-year contract allows Travelex to operate two new stores—one airside and one landside—alongside five ATMs at the non-Schengen pier. The new Travelex stores offer over 50 currencies for purchase on the day of travel and provide tax refund services. Customers can also collect cash pre-ordered via the Travelex website. This expansion adds to Travelex's presence in Germany, where it operates in five of the six busiest airports, including Frankfurt, Berlin Brandenburg, and Hamburg.
