UKinbound welcomes the Government’s modern Industrial Strategy

UKinbound, which represents over 370 of the country’s tourism businesses, has responded to the Government’s new Industrial Strategy and highlighted its importance to the growth of the UK travel and tourism industry.

UKinbound chief executive officer Deirdre Wells OBE commented: “UKinbound welcomes the Government’s new Industrial Strategy announced yesterday. We are encouraged by the proposals put forward to further develop technical skills amongst young people, upgrade our transport infrastructure, and additional support for business, trade and inward investment.

“We are particularly encouraged with the Prime Minister’s pledge to provide support to businesses nationwide and to ensure a more regional spread for industrial growth and development, allowing us to enhance our tourism offering across the UK. The plans put forward will help to strengthen our position as a competitive, global nation and facilitate the growth of our industry in a post-Brexit Britain.”

Wells continued: “Our industry already has a constructive, working relationship with Government and UKinbound looks forward to engaging with other organisations in our industry to strike a new sector deal for UK tourism.”
