Vietnam Airlines has launched a new automated inflight entertainment (IFE) microsite, developed by Stellar Entertainment, which allows passengers to explore onboard content before their flights. The microsite, powered by Stellar's proprietary pixL™ platform, automatically updates with each new programming cycle, offering a seamless experience for travellers.
The pixL™ platform manages the entire workflow from content ingestion to publication, ensuring the microsite remains current without manual updates. This automation is crucial for Vietnam Airlines, which operates a fleet of 83 aeroplanes with diverse content needs. Daniel Jacobs, COO at Stellar Entertainment, highlighted the efficiency of the system, stating, "Our microsites are integrated with pixL™ and the Stellar IFE Portal, so maintenance is built into how we work, with automated content updates and very few manual touchpoints."
In addition to content updates, the microsite provides Vietnam Airlines with real-time control over advertising banners through the Stellar IFE portal. This feature allows the airline to manage promotional content independently, adapting quickly to commercial opportunities. Tran Thanh Ha, Deputy General Manager of Vietnam Airlines' Inflight Service Division, expressed enthusiasm for the new system, noting, "Knowing the content updates automatically each cycle, and that our team has direct control over our promotional presence, gives us confidence that what passengers see always reflects where we are today."
Since Stellar Entertainment became Vietnam Airlines' IFE Content Service Provider in January 2026, the airline has expanded its entertainment offerings significantly, including a wide range of international films and multilingual content. The new microsite is accessible at lotustar-media.vietnamairlines.com/en, providing passengers with an enhanced pre-flight entertainment planning experience
