Virgin Voyages sets revenue record with new itineraries

Virgin Voyages has announced its most successful revenue day to date, surpassing its previous record set on Black Friday 2025. This milestone, achieved on 13 August, was driven by the launch of its new Scandinavia and Baltics itineraries, set to commence in summer 2028 with the Valiant Lady departing from Amsterdam.

The new programme includes five itineraries exploring Scandinavian capitals, the Norwegian fjords, and the Arctic Circle. Notably, bookings for the 11-night Arctic Circle itinerary were particularly strong, with August bookings running 20% ahead of the previous year, increasing to over 45% by the launch day.

This achievement follows a record Wave period for Virgin Voyages, during which the cruise line expanded support for travel agents, known as First Mates, by providing branded Canva marketing tools and introducing Rovey, an AI-powered travel assistant. CEO Nirmal Saverimuttu expressed his excitement, stating, “Breaking a record on a random Thursday in August seems odd until you realise all of the momentum we’ve built over the last eight months.”

The 2028 Northern Europe programme follows a refit of the Valiant Lady, which now features Ariya, a new Indian restaurant, and over 20 new onboard activities and entertainment options. Virgin Voyages continues to position itself as a leading choice for adults-only holidays, with Saverimuttu adding, “The world needs more joy, and I’m incredibly proud that Virgin Voyages gets to create some of that for travellers.”
