Wizz Air has marked a significant milestone with the delivery of its 200th Airbus A321neo aircraft, highlighting the airline's commitment to sustainable growth and emissions efficiency. This achievement is part of Wizz Air's strategy to transition to an all-A321neo fleet by 2029, further reducing emissions intensity and enhancing passenger experience.

Since the introduction of its first Airbus A321neo in 2019, Wizz Air has expanded its fleet with one of the most advanced single-aisle aircraft available. The A321neo, powered by next-generation Pratt & Whitney engines, offers up to 20% lower fuel consumption and reduced CO₂ emissions per seat compared to previous models. This efficiency supports the airline's sustainability goals and contributes to quieter operations, benefiting communities near airports.

The aircraft's "big gauge" design allows for more seats, aligning with Wizz Air's ultra-low-cost model by maximising efficiency per flight. Passengers enjoy a quieter environment, improved air quality, and a more spacious interior, enhancing overall comfort.

Owain Jones, Wizz Air’s Chief Corporate Officer, stated, “This milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to growth, innovation, and emissions intensity efficiency. From our first A321neo in 2019 to our 200th today, we have built one of the youngest, most efficient fleets in the industry.”

Looking forward, Wizz Air plans to continue its expansion with additional A321neo aircraft on order, aiming to serve 80 million passengers this year. The airline remains focused on leveraging cutting-edge technology to advance its net zero ambition and expand its network across Europe and beyond
