Valencia Tourism celebrates new flight connections

Valencia Tourism celebrated the addition of new connections from Glasgow and Birmingham with two events for the British travel trade held in these two cities on 26 and 27 April.

The event in Scotland was organised in conjunction with Ryanair and Glasgow Airport, whereas in the West Midlands the tourist board teamed up with Monarch and Birmingham Airport.

More than 100 agents and tour operators attended the presentations.

Ryanair started offering direct flights to Valencia from Glasgow in March, with two weekly departures on Fridays and Mondays. It will add a new route from Edinburgh on 2nd November, with flights to Valencia three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

As for Monarch, Valencia is a brand-new destination which the airline will serve from 22nd June, with direct flights from Birmingham twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays. The new additions will complement the existing offering of flights from Stansted, Gatwick, Luton, East Midlands and Manchester.

Valencia offers a combination of a mild, sunny climate and beaches, amazing historic sites and architecture, shopping opportunities, a rich gastronomy and vibrant nightlife.

It has proven increasingly popular as a short break destination for British travellers. In 2016, the city received a record 95,106 British visitors, 19.9% more than in 2015.
