Emirates inaugural flight from Dubai to Shenzhen lands

Emirates inaugural flight, EK328, touched down at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport on 1 July, receiving a warm welcome from distinguished guests and media partners on arrival. Emirates boosts services to Barcelona with a third daily flight
Emirates has announced it will ramp up operations to Barcelona with the addition of a third daily flight starting from 26 October 2025. The added service will meet market demand and offer customers greater connectivity to/from the coastal city as well as access to popular destinations across Emirates’ network including Maldives, Bangkok, Bali, Hong Kong and Singapore. Customers can look forward to the airline’s award-winning service and industry-leading products across all cabins including regionally inspired meals, premium beverages, and up to 6,500 channels of on-demand entertainment on ice – the airline’s inflight entertainment system. Emirates currently serves Spain with 28 weekly flights utilising a fleet mix of A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, including: 14 weekly flights to Madrid; and 14 weekly flights to Barcelona including 7 weekly flights from Dubai to Mexico City via Barcelona.
Emirates A350 makes its debut at the 2025 Paris Airshow
Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, is participating in the 55th edition of the International Paris Airshow until 19 June. After an over 15-year hiatus from the show, Emirates is showcasing its newest aircraft – the Airbus A350 – featuring the airline’s next-generation cabin design, latest interiors, and technologies. Visitors can experience Emirates’ upgraded Business Class and Premium Economy cabins, as well its sleek and spacious Economy Class. Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline, said: “We’re pleased to be at the Paris Airshow, showcasing the very best of air travel on one of the most important platforms in the aerospace exhibition calendar. Coming back to France's most important aerospace show demonstrates how committed Emirates is to supporting the country's aviation industry - not just through our day-to-day operations, but through ongoing investments across the entire aerospace supply chain.” The airline serves Paris with 21 weekly flights, including 3 daily A380 flights; a daily A380 service to Nice; and a daily A350 flight to Lyon. Emirates is the first and only international airline to operate an A380 to Nice Côte d´Azur Airport. For over 30 years, Emirates has played a key role in expanding France's aviation sector and enhancing trade and tourism flows. Key Emirates investments in France over the last three decades include: Emirates’ A350 and A380 purchases have supported thousands of jobs at Airbus, Safran, Thales as well as other parts of the aerospace value chain in France. Since its inception in 1985 – Emirates has invested more than €114 billion (US$ 130 billion) to purchase 254 Airbus aircraft including the, A300, A310, A330, A340-300, A340-500, A380 and A350 aircraft. The airline is a key customer for French aerospace manufacturers, sourcing Michelin tyres, Safran aircraft components and seating, and Thales avionics systems, among other parts to support its fleet. In 2023, the airline announced a series of contracts with Safran, worth over €1.0 billion (US$1.14 billion) combined. This includes a €896 million (US$1.0 billion) deal for the latest generation Safran Seats for Emirates’ new fleet of Airbus A350, Boeing 777X-9 and existing Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The airline has also invested over €322 million (US$367.5 million) in Thales’ AVANT Up system for its new A350 aircraft. Emirates SkyCargo offers cargo capacity to customers in France on a weekly rotation between Dubai World Central (DWC), Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Lyon Saint-Exupery airports. The UAE is France’s largest export partner in the Middle East. Emirates directly contributes over €189 million (USD $215 million) to the French economy each year through operational expenditures such as fuel uplift, over-flight charges, inflight catering, aircraft landing and handling fees, crew layover, staff salaries, advertising, and sponsorship. France is also Emirates’ top source market globally for the procurement of wines, and 58% of the red wine consumed in Emirates’ First and Business Class comes from Bordeaux. The Emirates A350 on display features three spacious cabin classes including 32 next-generation Business Class lie-flat seats, 21 Premium Economy seats, and 259 generously pitched Economy Class seats. Visitors at the Paris Airshow can get a glimpse of the airline’s new and enhanced ‘fly better’ experience including more space and storage with extra high ceilings and wider aisles in all classes; next generation Business Class cabin with 1-2-1 seat configuration; latest generation of in-flight entertainment with a cinematic viewing experience, enhanced cabin lighting, faster Wi-Fi, and improved seat ergonomics. By the end of this year, the Emirates A350 is expected to serve 17 destinations. The airline has welcomed 7 A350 aircraft with 58 more units to join its fleet over the coming years.
Emirates forges interline partnership with Bahamasair
Emirates and Bahamasair have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an interline partnership benefitting customers travelling to The Bahamas. The partnership enables Emirates to expand its reach in the Caribbean, allowing customers to utilise the services of The Bahamas’ national flag carrier from Florida to one of three destinations on the island country. Under the unilateral agreement, customers traveling on Emirates to Miami or Orlando will be able to connect to Bahamasair flights to Nassau, Freeport or San Salvador, with the added convenience of booking itineraries with both airlines on a single ticket. Additionally, Emirates’ customers will enjoy generous baggage allowance when flying on Bahamasair to the three destinations. Commenting on the new interline partnership, Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer said: “We are pleased to establish an interline partnership with Bahamasair to expand our reach to new and exciting destinations and offer travel options for our customers planning journeys to the Caribbean nation. The interline partnership offers customers the convenience of connecting in Florida for travel onwards to points across the islands of The Bahamas, while enjoying competitive fare pricing, the convenience of booking the entire journey on a single ticket and a generous baggage policy.” “This partnership also supports our agreement with The Bahamas’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote the Caribbean destination across our network.” As part of the MoU, both carriers will also explore opportunities to enhance their cargo interline cooperation and potential partnerships under their frequent flyer programmes. Emirates serves Miami with daily flights with its Boeing 777, along with five-weekly services to Orlando, connecting travellers across its expansive network of over 140 destinations. On the sidelines of Arabian Travel Market, Emirates and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly promote tourism to the Caribbean nation in a partnership aimed at further developing the country’s tourism and trade industries.
Emirates to fly to Da Nang and Siem Reap via Bangkok
Emirates has expanded its East Asia footprint to 23 points with the launch of two new routes via Bangkok - Da Nang, Vietnam and Siem Reap, Cambodia. These launches mark a significant milestone in the airline’s broader strategy to deepen connectivity to the region during a period of rapid growth and innovation in travel and trade. The inaugural flights to Da Nang on 2 June and Siem Reap on 3 June were celebrated with traditional water cannon salutes and warm welcomes from government dignitaries and airport officials. Emirates’ leadership teams inaugurated services at each destination. Both routes are operated by Emirates’ wide-body Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering the airline’s signature products and award-winning service, as well as seamless connections to Dubai and beyond to the airline’s global network. Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ Executive Vice President, Passenger Sales and Country Management said: “Launching two new routes via Bangkok marks a significant milestone in strengthening Emirates’ presence in Southeast Asia and reinforces our long-standing commitment to Thailand as a strategic gateway to the region. With these new services, travellers can now experience seamless connectivity across three distinct destinations—Dubai, Bangkok, and either Da Nang or Siem Reap—with a single ticket. We thank our partners, including the local authorities and airports for their cooperation and valuable contributions to Emirates’ expansion efforts in this region.” Boosting Trade and Tourism Across Borders Da Nang becomes Emirates’ third gateway in Vietnam, joining Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and will serve as a vital link for high-value cargo including electronics, textiles, and perishables. With 25 weekly flights, Emirates’ operations in Vietnam are supported by strong partnerships including recent MoUs with Vietnam Airlines, VietJet, and Sun Group, aimed at enhancing air connectivity to the Southeast Asian hub and promoting inbound tourism. The new Dubai–Bangkok–Siem Reap route, operating three times weekly and complementing Emirates' existing daily service to Phnom Penh via Singapore will also expand the airline's presence in Cambodia to 10 weekly flights. The new routes are strategically timed to serve leisure travelers from key European markets and will open more opportunities for cultural and business exchanges under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPA) established between the UAE and both Cambodia and Vietnam. The two route launches were also commemorated with a cake-cutting ceremony at Emirates’ newly renovated lounge at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport’s SAT-1 terminal, which is also the airline’s largest airport lounge outside of Dubai. Attended by Emirates’ official delegation, excellencies and airport officials, the ceremony reinforced Bangkok’s pivotal role in the airline’s regional expansion. Emirates’ Southeast Asia growth strategy continues to gain momentum, driven by strong bilateral relations, increased demand for travel and trade, and robust partnerships with governments, tourism bodies, and airports across the region.
Emirates and Air China sign MoU
Emirates and Air China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic framework for expanding their existing reciprocal interline cooperation. The signing took place on the sidelines of the 81st Annual General Meeting (IATA AGM) and World Air Transport Summit (WATS) in New Delhi. The MoU was signed by Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer and Yan Fei, Air China’s Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer, accompanied by senior executives from both sides. Adnan Kazim said: “Our partnership with Air China commenced 26 years ago (July 1999) and since 2018 approximately, 18,000 Emirates customers have benefited from the expanded connectivity offered through our interline agreement. Building on this success, we've recently announced the launch of two new Chinese cities—Shenzhen and Hangzhou—which will strengthen our East Asia operations. Shenzhen will feature our best-in-class products, including our brand-new Premium Economy cabin. As we continue expanding our investments in Chinese mainland, we look forward to deepening our partnership with Air China to meet growing travel demand in this strategic market and create new pathways for travel and trade between China and the global community." Yan Fei said: “Air China highly values the cooperation with Emirates. The signing of this memorandum is an important milestone for the deepening of the cooperation between the two sides. Air China continues to implement "Belt and Road Initiative". By collaborating with Emirates, we will further expand our route network in China-UAE and global market and jointly promote global connectivity." Under the MOU, Emirates and Air China will explore a reciprocal codeshare on select routes across each other’s networks. This would allow each airline to place its code on the other’s flights on China-UAE trunk routes as well as beyond Beijing and Dubai to an expanded list of points. * Emirates and Air China will also develop a framework for cooperation across cargo operations and respective frequent flyer loyalty programme, enhancing their value proposition for both travellers and businesses. To further ensure seamless connectivity for customers, the two carriers will explore coordinating flight schedules or adjusting minimum connecting times. Once activated, customers of both airlines will benefit from a seamless booking process, single ticket itineraries and wider lounge access to new and exciting destinations. Beyond commercial cooperation, both carriers plan to exchange best practices in areas such as revenue management, data analytics, digitalisation, brand management and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), among others, through joint knowledge sharing and familiarisation visits. Emirates in Chinese mainland From 30 July, Emirates will operate 49 weekly flights to the Chinese mainland, including double daily services to Beijing and Shanghai as well as daily flights to Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hangzhou. The airline's continued expansion into the Chinese mainland reflects the deepening UAE-China bilateral ties and underscores Emirates' longstanding commitment to advancing the objectives of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Emirates to reintroduce Damascus services from 16 July
Emirates is set to reintroduce flights to Damascus from 16 July 2025. Operations were suspended to the Syrian capital in 2012, and the return of services follow a comprehensive evaluation in conjunction with the UAE GCAA. The airline will initially start with three weekly services on Monday, Wednesday and Sunday, with plans to expand to four weekly flights from 2 August* with an additional flight on Saturday. Emirates will expand its Damascus services to daily operations, effective 26 October *. Emirates’ services to Damascus will operate with a 302-seater Boeing 777-200LR and is planned to depart Dubai as EK 913 at 1200hrs, arriving in Damascus International Airport at 1410hrs local time. The return flight, EK 914 will depart Damascus at 1630hrs, arriving in Dubai at 2030hrs local time.** The flights will open up new opportunities for travellers to conveniently connect to and from the airline’s network of nearly 150 destinations and will support the UAE’s efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and support Syrian aspirations to rebuild and attract foreign investment across key sectors such as energy, construction and agriculture. Emirates customers flying to and from Damascus will also benefit from the airline’s codeshare partnership with flydubai, which will complement its flight schedule and provide more options and convenience when flying in and out of the Syrian capital. We would like to thank the Syrian authorities for their support in strengthening connectivity between Dubai and Damascus and look forward to boosting links to and from the country through our regularly scheduled operations.” The UAE and Syria’s trade volumes reached US $680 million (AED 2.5 billion) in 2024¹, a 23% increase over the previous year, and the new flights will further stimulate vital trade ties. The UAE's thriving Syrian community of over 350,000 nationals² have played an integral role in the UAE’s prosperity, contributing through entrepreneurial ventures and skilled expertise while further enriching the country’s vibrant cultural tapestry. The Boeing 777-200LR aircraft operating to and from Damascus features 38 Business Class seats alongside 264 seats in Economy Class. Emirates Business Class on the Damascus service will feature a 2-2-2 configuration. Travellers flying to and from Damascus with Emirates can enjoy the best experience in the sky with an unmatched culinary experience, including Levantine inspired dishes complemented by a wide selection of premium beverages. Customers can also sit back and relax with up to 6,500 channels of carefully curated entertainment, including close to 650 channels of Arabic content, including movies, TV shows, music, podcasts, games, audiobooks and more with ice, Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment system. Emirates commenced services to Damascus in 1988, and prior to suspending operations in 2012 the airline carried over 2.1 million passengers in and out of Syria. The airline currently flies to 13 cities in the Middle East/GCC, serving the region with a total of 191 weekly flights.
