awstoys / Shutterstock.comAgoda has introduced a limited public beta of its AI Assistant, a tool designed to transform travel ideas into bookable trips. Initially available to a select group of users on the Agoda mobile app, this feature aims to streamline the travel planning process by integrating various elements such as accommodation, flights, and activities into a single platform.
The AI Assistant addresses common travel planning challenges, such as verifying prices and availability, by connecting users with Agoda's extensive inventory of over 6 million accommodations, 130,000 flight routes, and 300,000 activities. Powered by OpenAI's GPT-56 model, the assistant offers conversational trip planning, retaining user preferences and trip context to personalise the experience. For complex itineraries, it utilises Google Gemini's Grounding with Google Maps to recommend ideal locations based on real-time data.
Omri Morgenshtern, CEO of Agoda, highlighted the convenience of the AI Assistant, stating, "Agoda's AI Assistant takes that chaos off travellers' plates. It remembers what they like, keeps the trip on track, and lets people get back to the fun part of actually looking forward to the holiday."
The beta phase will allow Agoda to gather user feedback and refine the AI Assistant before a wider rollout to all app users in the coming months. This development underscores Agoda's commitment to leveraging technology to enhance travel experiences, making it easier and more affordable for users worldwide.
