Job Description

Flight Centre Canada is seeking a Director of Marketing who will be responsible for the strategic development and successful implementation of marketing initiatives to drive key business objectives. At the highest level, this role is responsible for driving customer acquisition and retention in the most productive and effective manner possible across the various business units within the Flight Centre Canada retail pillar while maintaining brand standards and operating excellence.
The Director of Marketing will develop marketing strategies to acquire and retain customers, lead, and develop the marketing team and identify customer trends and opportunities. Additionally, they will be responsible for budget management and overview, analyzing and reporting effective marketing initiatives, and liaising with key media and industry partners. This is a highly cross-function role and engages with the global marketing discipline of Flight Centre Travel Group in order to bring strategies and plans to life in a way that maximizes the growth of our Canadian business. The Director of Marketing will be a member of the retail and marketing leadership groups.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Marketing Planning and Execution
Understand business needs and objectives, identify consumer trends and opportunities, and develop marketing strategies, including segmenting, targeting, and positioning to acquire and retain customers.
Develop and drive marketing objectives and key results in support of national business goals.
Recommend, develop, and oversee the execution of marketing strategies and tactical executions based on competitor analysis and insights.
Collaborate with the SVP Marketing, the national marketing team, the global marketing team, and product teams to develop a best in class integrated marketing communications plan.
Lead and develop the Leisure marketing team, overseeing tasks including but not limited to brand management, operational support, local and regional marketing, data integration and segmentation, customer insights, CRM, and social media strategies.
Leadership, team building and partner management
Lead, inspire and develop a geo-diverse marketing team.
Collaborate with key decision-makers and influencers in the organization to build relationships, provide marketing expertise to operational leaders and store teams and uncover new business opportunities.
Liaise with key media support and establish and manage relationships with suppliers at a national level.
Budget management, reporting and analytics
Responsible for budget overview and management.
Be obsessed with the analysis and optimization of marketing initiatives while reporting on their effectiveness and communicating key finds to VP of Retail, SVP of Leisure Marketing, and other key stakeholders.
Engage and collaborate with global marketing discipline leaders on a regular basis to optimize marketing channels and enhance their effectiveness within the Canadian market.
Position Requirements:
5+ years’ experience in B2C marketing as a senior marketer with a global brand
5+ years’ experience with strategic planning and execution of an omni channel marketing communications plan.
Travel Industry experience preferred
Strong communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
Strong analytical and presentation skills
Exceptional relationship building skills (internal and external)
