Hawaiian Airlines has revealed a new aircraft livery that celebrates its membership in the oneworld alliance, featuring the Hawaiian language phrase "Aloha a puni ka honua" or "Aloha all around the world."
The unveiling took place on 30 June at the Charles I Elliott Maintenance and Cargo Facility in Honolulu. The design, displayed on an Airbus A330, aims to share Hawaiian culture and hospitality with a global audience.
The aircraft continues to feature the airline's iconic Pualani on the tail and a maile lei wrapped around the fuselage. Alisa Onishi, Managing Director of Hawaiʻi marketing for Hawaiian Airlines, stated, "Language is essential to preserving Hawaiʻi's culture. By placing ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi on our aircraft, we honour our heritage and carry the voice of Hawaiʻi everywhere we fly."
During the unveiling event, Hawaiian Airlines donated $10,000 (£7,500) each to ʻIolani Palace and the Polynesian Voyaging Society, reinforcing its commitment to preserving Hawaiian culture and traditions. This marks Hawaiian Airlines' first entry into a major alliance, enhancing travel options for its guests.
Members of the Atmos Rewards loyalty programme, a collaboration between Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines, can now earn and redeem points across oneworld's network of nearly 1,000 destinations. Benefits include access to premium lounges, extra baggage allowance, and priority services. The new livery and alliance membership aim to make Hawaii more accessible to travellers worldwide, offering a seamless travel experience with Hawaiian Airlines' renowned hospitality
