The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has launched its 5th International Conference in Mauritius, which began on 3 August 2026. The event, themed "Strengthening Governance in VUCA World," features prominent figures such as Dr the Hon Mrs Jyoti Jeetun, Minister of Financial Services and Economic Planning, and Anurag Srivastava, High Commissioner of India to Mauritius.

The three-day conference will conclude with a study tour of the Ministry of Financial Services and Economic Planning on 5 August. Dr Jeetun highlighted the importance of resilience in governance, stating, “Growth without resilience is fragile. Boards must evolve from compliance to adaptive strategies.” Srivastava emphasised the role of company secretaries as "strategic enablers of investment and cross-border commerce."

The conference includes sessions on topics such as "Geopolitics and Risk Oversight in Boardrooms" and "Responsible AI for Future-Ready Institutions." A special session by Dovinassy Pillay Naiken, Acting Director of the Financial Services Unit, focused on Mauritius's regulatory framework and its role in the India–Africa corridor.

ICSI also announced its upcoming Global Governance Conference, set for 8–9 January 2027 in Mumbai. This event aims to gather global leaders to discuss responsible business practices. ICSI President Pawan G Chandak remarked, “Governance for the future relies heavily on agile leadership, transparency, and AI-powered innovation.”
