Fairmont opens 100th hotel in New Orleans

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has opened its 100th hotel, Fairmont New Orleans, marking the brand’s return to the city after 20 years. Located in the Central Business District, the 250-room property features interiors by Rockwell Group, dining concepts by Chef Emeril Lagasse and more than 19,000 square feet of meeting and event space. It occupies 17 floors of the former Bank of New Orleans building, a landmark originally designed in 1970.

Drawing inspiration from the 1970s, the hotel's design celebrates a distinctive period in New Orleans' architectural history. Omer Acar, CEO of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, said the opening of the brand’s milestone property in New Orleans was a fitting match. The hotel aims to become a vibrant social hub by blending the city's heritage with contemporary energy.

Meanwhile, guests can choose from several dining options, including Delmonico Steakhouse and The Café by Emeril. Making its debut outside Las Vegas, Delmonico Steakhouse combines classic steakhouse traditions with bold New Orleans flavours. In contrast, The Café by Emeril offers a relaxed, brasserie-style dining experience.

Beyond its restaurants, the hotel features a rooftop pool and cocktail lounge. It will also open a 10,000-square-foot spa and fitness centre in December. Together, these facilities will expand its wellness and leisure offerings while positioning Fairmont New Orleans as a new gathering place for visitors and locals alike.
