Indonesia is inviting South Korean travellers to explore its diverse offerings through the Quality Tourism initiative. This approach focuses on providing meaningful travel experiences that cater to personal interests, ranging from recreation and wellness to culture, creativity, and marine exploration.
The Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia is promoting this initiative to enhance the quality of travel experiences and attract affluent visitors. By offering niche experiences such as marine tourism, gastronomy, wellness, luxury golf, and the arts, the ministry aims to encourage longer stays and boost economic benefits for local communities.
The "Go Beyond Ordinary" campaign highlights six destinations—Bali, Lombok, Jakarta, Central Java, Manado, and Labuan Bajo—each showcasing unique aspects of Indonesia. Bali combines recreation, nature, culture, and wellness, offering golf experiences amidst tropical landscapes. Lombok provides a tranquil escape with its beaches and marine activities. Jakarta presents a vibrant mix of art, creativity, gastronomy, and urban lifestyle.
Central Java invites travellers to delve into Indonesia's history and traditions through historic sites and local cuisine. Manado, with its rich underwater ecosystems, is ideal for diving enthusiasts, whilst Labuan Bajo offers dramatic island landscapes and the famous Pink Beach.
Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, Minister of Tourism, stated, "Quality Tourism is about creating greater value through the way people experience Indonesia. Through Go Beyond Ordinary, we want South Korean travellers to discover more of the country in ways that reflect their interests."
To assist travellers, the Ministry has introduced MaiA, an AI-powered travel assistant, as part of the Tourism 5.0 programme, available at indonesiatravel
