The Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) has announced the appointment of Cho Yoonmi as the new Director of its New Delhi office, effective 30 June 2026.
With over 25 years of experience at KTO, Cho brings extensive knowledge and expertise to her new role, aiming to strengthen Korea's position as a prime destination for Indian travellers.
Cho's appointment comes at a time when India is recognised as one of the fastest-growing markets for Korean tourism. "With 25 years at KTO, I've seen India become one of the most important and fastest-growing markets for Korea tourism. The bond between India and Korea has only grown stronger over the years, and I'll be working closely with industry partners to take Korea closer to becoming the ultimate destination for Indian travellers," she stated.
Under her leadership, KTO India plans to expand its initiatives across major Indian cities, fostering deeper partnerships and introducing innovative strategies that cater to the increasing demand for immersive travel experiences. These efforts are expected to go beyond traditional tourism promotion, appealing to the evolving preferences of Indian tourists.
The KTO, operating under South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, has a global presence with 30 overseas offices. The New Delhi office, established in May 2008, plays a crucial role in marketing South Korea's diverse tourism offerings across India and neighbouring regions. Through collaboration with travel trade partners and media, the office aims to enhance South Korea's visibility and appeal in the Indian market
