Plaza Premium Group (PPG), a leader in airport hospitality, has announced a $20 million investment to expand its presence in Australia. The announcement coincides with its tenth anniversary in the country.
The investment will fund three projects: a new independent domestic lounge at Sydney Airport, a complete rebuild of the Brisbane International lounge and a new lounge at Cairns Airport.
The Sydney lounge is set to open in early December at Terminal 2. It will be the first independent pay-per-use lounge in the airport's domestic precinct. All departing passengers will have access to the facility. The project forms part of Sydney Airport's $200 million Terminal 2 redevelopment, which aims to improve the passenger experience in a high-traffic area.
The Brisbane lounge redevelopment comes as the city prepares for increased international demand ahead of the 2032 Olympic Games. Brisbane Airport is investing more than $5 billion in infrastructure, with PPG's project contributing to the transformation.
Cyrus Wong, General Manager, Oceania at PPG, highlighted the significance of the investment. "A decade after entering Australia, we are proud to launch our biggest domestic project yet," he said.
The expansion reflects PPG's strategy to grow its independent airport hospitality services. The group aims to serve travellers seeking lounge access beyond traditional airline programmes. The new Sydney lounge will feature contemporary design, quiet workspaces and locally inspired food and beverages.
PPG's investment also supports its global expansion strategy. The company was named World's Best Airport Lounge Group at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards. Access to the new Sydney lounge starts at $34 (AUD $54). Travellers can book in advance or walk in.
