Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group sign up Radisson Blu Resort Maldives

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group have announced the signing of a management agreement for Radisson Blu Resort Maldives with Chang Hua Holdings. Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2019, the property is one of the most anticipated new developments in Maldives in addition to being the first Radisson Blu resort in the market. Located on the southern part of Maldives’ Alifu Dhaalu Atoll, Radisson Blu Resort Maldives is situated 105 kilometers from Male International Airport. Carlson Rezidor appoints Katerina Giannouka as president of Asia Pacific

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, today announced the appointment of Katerina Giannouka as president, Asia Pacific. She will be based in Singapore, at Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group’s Asia Pacific headquarters, and join no later than December 4, 2017, reporting directly to John Kidd, chief executive officer & chief operating officer of Carlson Hotels Inc.  Katerina Giannouka Katerina will be a member of Carlson Hotels’ Executive Leadership Committee where she will work in tandem with the global and Asia Pacific leadership teams to drive success and growth for Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. In her role, she will be responsible in leading the Asia Pacific executive committee and its corporate offices in Singapore, Shanghai and Delhi. “Asia Pacific is a key growth engine for Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group as we expand our presence and develop our successes,” said John Kidd. “Katerina’s dynamic and energetic leadership experience, complemented with business intelligence and a tenacious work ethic, are testament to her accomplishments in Asia Pacific and EMEA. Carlson Rezidor expands in Rajasthan

Country Inn & Suites by Carlson Kota has 85 rooms Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has continued to expand its presence across India with the launch of a new midscale hotel in the city of Kota, Rajasthan. The company is already India's largest international hotel group, and this leadership position has been strengthened by the launch of the Country Inn & Suites by Carlson Kota, which opened its doors last week. It becomes the first-ever internationally branded hotel in the city. "With 557 properties in operation and under development globally, Country Inns & Suites by Carlson is a leader in the upper-midscale hotel segment," said Raj Rana, Carlson Rezidor's CEO for South Asia. "We are glad... to pioneer the first international brand in the city." Located in the centre of Kota, the new hotel features 85 rooms and suites, a rooftop swimming pool, spa, health club and four F&B outlets, including Indian and international restaurants. For the MICE market there is a large banqueting hall and outdoor event lawn. All guests are offered complimentary Wi-Fi and breakfast. This becomes the second Country Inns & Suites hotel in Rajasthan, following an existing property in Ajmer.

Eric de Neef ERIC DE NEEF has been named as Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group's new executive vice president, global chief branding & commercial officer. While he will be based in Brussels, de Neef will also oversee the Asia Pacific commercial team based in Singapore. He previously worked for the Rezidor Hotel Group. MOHAMMAD ALI has been promoted to the role of area director of sales for North India with AccorHotels. A seasoned hotelier with more than two decades of experience, Ali worked for Taj and Starwood before joining AccorHotels in 2010 as the company’s director of sales for MICE. Marc Cavaliere MARC CAVALIERE has been appointed as Fiji Airways' new chief marketing officer. A vastly experienced airline professional, Cavaliere has 37 years of experience, including spells with South African Airways and American Airlines. He has also served as a Star Alliance board member. HALDON PHILP has been announced as the general manager of W Brisbane, which is on track to open in early 2018. An experienced hotelier with over 22 years' experience, Philp most recently managed the opening of Sheraton Melbourne. Prior to this he was deputy GM at the St Regis Doha. Kris Marthin KRIS MARTHIN has been hired as the new corporate director of sales & marketing for Shinta Mani Hotels Cambodia. An Indonesian national, Marthin started his career with Hyatt in Bali in 2002, before going on to work at Marriott's regional office in Hong Kong. He is fluent in Japanese. NOPPORN JETSADAJARATKUL has become Sala Hospitality Group's new e-commerce manager. The Great Kebab Factory at Radisson Blu Plaza New Delhi Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has formed a new partnership with Dineout, India’s largest restaurant reservation service. The agreement will enable Indian diners to make online bookings at the company's hotel restaurants. This follows a pilot exercise undertaken in 2016 in which some Carlson Rezidor hotels in India had their restaurants and bars promoted on the platform. "We are buoyed by the success of our pilot project with Dineout and see many more opportunities of success with our continued partnership," said Sandy Russell, Carlson Rezidor's vice president of Asia Pacific. "The technology exposes customers to more brand experiences through their devices and social media, while helping our hotels and their F&B outlets achieve greater competitive advantage." Carlson Rezidor is one of the biggest hotel operators in India, with a portfolio of 140 hotels either operational or under development across 60 cities, including 16 state capitals. This means that the company also has a huge collection of restaurants in the country, which will now be bookable via Dineout's table reservation system. "Our partnership with Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has been a very fruitful one and we are looking forward to helping them accelerate their growth in their F&B segments this year," said Ankit Mehrotra, co-founder of Dineout. "The Indian F&B market is changing every day, and the discerning Indian diner is spending more time and money dining out. Country Inn & Suites by Carlson opened its first hotel in Kota, Rajasthan making it the first-ever international brand to have presence in the city. Carlson breaks new ground with first Sri Lankan hotel

The ground-breaking ceremony for the new Park Inn by Radisson Colombo Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has broken ground on its first ever property in Sri Lanka. The company held a ceremony recently to mark the start of construction work on the Park Inn by Radisson Colombo. The event was attended by Sri Lanka’s Minister of Tourism Development, John Amaratunga, and Thorsten Kirschke, Carlson Rezidor's president for Asia Pacific. Located on Galle Road, in the centre of the Sri Lankan capital, the new midscale hotel will offer 199 rooms, a swimming pool, fitness centre, F&B outlets and function space. It is expected to open in the second quarter of 2019. "This is a significant milestone as Park Inn by Radisson Colombo marks our first hotel in Sri Lanka and the debut of our Park Inn by Radisson brand in the country," said Kirschke. "Sri Lanka... is globally renowned as a tropical paradise. The nation’s pristine, natural beauty coupled with numerous breath-taking experiences and activities, is perfectly aligned with Park Inn by Radisson’s positioning as bright, bold, fresh and energetic."
