Indonesian premium airline TransNusa has inaugurated its first direct flight between Bali and Phuket, enhancing travel options for tropical holidaymakers. The maiden flight, 8B 541, departed from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport at 11:30 AM, transforming a previously lengthy journey into a four-hour direct flight.
TransNusa's CEO, Datuk Bernard Francis, highlighted the significance of the new route, stating, "We are bridging two world-class tourism capitals." The airline aims to boost regional tourism, create economic opportunities, and strengthen its Bali hub. The direct connection allows travellers to explore the unique cultures of both Phuket and Bali in a single itinerary.
The new service, operating four times weekly, will increase to daily flights from 3 October 2026. Utilising an Airbus A320 with 174 seats, the flight departs Bali at 11:30 AM and arrives in Phuket at 2:35 PM. Return flights leave Phuket at 3:35 PM, reaching Bali by 8:35 PM.
TransNusa is also expanding its reach to other destinations, including Singapore and Perth, further establishing itself as a key regional player. The airline offers promotional fares starting at $135 (IDR2,399,000) for the Bali-Phuket route, available on its website.
In addition to the new route, TransNusa is enhancing its domestic network, connecting Bali with Indonesia's hidden gems like Wakatobi, Lombok, Manado, and Bima, offering travellers access to some of the country's most spectacular islands.
