Luxury Group by Marriott International has unveiled "The Liquid City," an innovative cocktail series designed to elevate fine drinking experiences across Greater China. This initiative, part of the renowned Culinary Atelier series, brings together three acclaimed mixologists from Asia's 50 Best Bars to create unique cocktail experiences in six cities and ten luxury hotels.
The series invites travellers and cocktail enthusiasts to explore the cultural heritage and native flavours of iconic destinations through mixology. Each cocktail is crafted to reflect the spirit and history of its location, from Hong Kong's tea culture to the glamour of Shanghai's golden era.
Bart Buiring, Managing Director of Luxury Greater China at Marriott International, stated, "The Liquid City is a celebration of craftsmanship, cultural storytelling, and culinary innovation."
The series features an elite line-up of mixologists, including Amanda Wan from Hong Kong, Hwi Yun from Seoul, and Alvin Sung Jaya from Jakarta. These experts will collaborate with resident bartenders to create bespoke bar menus that blend global perspectives with regional flavours.
Guests will enjoy curated cocktails and culinary pairings at each venue. Highlights include "Pillow Confessions," inspired by Macau's Portuguese egg tart, and "Night Silk," a coffee and fig-infused brandy cocktail in Shanghai.
The multi-city takeover began on 19 August and will culminate in a grand finale on 29-30 August at The Shanghai EDITION. The event promises an exclusive weekend of mixology showcases, further cementing Marriott's commitment to offering immersive dining and drinking experiences.
