This month, JW Marriott Goa offers diners a distinctive culinary showcase at its all-day dining establishment JW Kitchen. The fiery flavours of the Land of Abundance The Sichuan region, often referred to as the ‘Land of Abundance’, is famed for its layered flavors, liberal use of chilli, garlic, and the unmistakable tingle of Sichuan peppercorns.  The menu features a wide array of dishes that reflect the signature boldness of Sichuan cuisine while offering depth, balance, and variety.  Among the appetisers, the Chengdu-style prawns are a standout, stir-fried with burnt chilli and scallions to deliver a perfect combination of heat and umami.  The spicy mala mushrooms are a vegetarian highlight, offering the numbing, peppery sensation that defines the region’s iconic ‘mala’ flavor profile.  The crispy tofu with Shaoxing wine offers delicate crunch balanced by the savory richness of aged Chinese rice wine, while the Chengdu-style lamb with cumin and coriander captures the earthy undertones of western China’s Muslim culinary influences. The soup course includes the deeply comforting Mala Xiaomian-style Noodle Soup, characterised by a spicy, numbing broth and soft, hand-pulled noodles or a Spicy Seafood Peppercorn Soup, which brings together shellfish and aromatics in a broth that is both fiery and fragrant, making for a bold yet balanced beginning to the meal. Main courses feature both classics and regional favourites, including the Wok-Fried pork Belly With Mountain Chilli And Sichuan Sauce is a rich, robust dish with layers of caramelised fat and spice, while the Sichuan Hot Pot Chicken offers a dry version of the classic hot pot: fiery, aromatic, and intensely flavourful.  The Mala Xiang Guo, a dry stir-fried hotpot medley, showcases a colourful mix of proteins and vegetables tossed in aromatic oils and spices.  Vegetarian diners will appreciate the Stir-Fried Tofu And Long Eggplant with Sichuan pepper and garlic sauce, which offers both heat and depth.  The Dan Dan noodles, a dish symbolic of Sichuan street food culture, combine spicy minced meat with sesame, soy, and vinegar for a complex, tangy finish.  To accompany the mains, the Sichuan-Style Fried Rice with edamame and burnt chilli delivers a smoky, satisfying flavour with each bite. The experience concludes on a sweet note with inventive desserts inspired by regional and Asian elements.  The Mango Pudding Rice With Mango Ice Cream offers a light and tropical ending, while the Darsan With Jaggery-Sesame Gelato merges the crisp texture of fried noodles with the nutty sweetness of sesame and the warmth of jaggery, creating a dessert that bridges tradition and innovation.

Marriott International has appointed Rhiannon Callaghan as Multi-Property Director of Marketing & PR for Marriott Hotel Al Jaddaf, Dubai, Marriott Executive Apartments Al Jaddaf and Marriott Executive Apartments Dubai Creek. A dynamic hospitality marketing professional, Rhiannon brings with her a strong record of success in driving brand performance, digital strategy and guest engagement across the luxury hospitality sector. In her new role, Rhiannon will be responsible for the full spectrum of marketing and communications activity across all three properties. Her focus will include driving integrated campaigns, strengthening brand positioning, expanding digital reach and leading high-impact PR and partnership strategies. New Regional Collection Brand ‘Series by Marriott’ launched

Marriott International Announces Global Launch of New Regional Collection Brand: Series by Marriott™ in a strategic deal with Concept Hospitality   Marriott International announced the global launch of its new collection brand for the midscale and upscale lodging segments—Series by Marriott™—as the company continues to expand its lodging offerings around the world. Series by Marriott is expected to expand Marriott’s global presence by bringing well-established regionally created brands and hotels that champion consistent quality and service into the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. Series by Marriott will offer guests comfortable stays in more places and provide regional owners access to the benefits of Marriott’s platforms, including the company’s award-winning Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, all while maintaining their portfolio’s independent identity. Series by Marriott marks its initial launch through a founding deal with Concept Hospitality Private Limited (CHPL) in India, a key growth market for Marriott. Established in 1996 by Param Kannampilly, CHPL, is one of India’s leading hotel management companies with a portfolio of six brands and over 100 hotels operating in 90 locations. Under the strategic agreement between CHPL and Marriott, CHPL's flagship brands—The Fern, The Fern Residency, and The Fern Habitat—will affiliate with Series by Marriott on an exclusive basis across India and Marriott will make a small equity investment in CHPL. The Fern portfolio is currently comprised of 84 open properties and 31 executed pipeline deals, totaling 115 properties and approximately 8,000 rooms. Fern properties are expected to join Marriott’s portfolio in India over time following discussions with the third-party hotel owners and execution of long-term franchise agreements with those owners. Marriott International to acquire citizenM

Marriott International announced it has reached an agreement to acquire the lifestyle brand citizenM on Monday, 28th April. citizenM is a company that specialises in unique and innovative offerings in the select-service segment.  The impending acquisition is seen to be a great boost to the ongoing global expansion of Marriott's select-service and lifestyle lodging offerings. It is likewise seen as timely, given that Marriott continues to focus on expanding its portfolio to provide even more exciting options for guests and Marriott Bonvoy members around the world. Marriott International president and chief executive Anthony Capuano said of the matter: "As we continue to drive best-in-class experiences for travelers, today's announcement builds upon Marriott's commitment to enhance options for guests and Marriott Bonvoy members. We are thrilled to add citizenM as a unique, differentiated offering to our select-service brand portfolio as we continue to strengthen Marriott's foothold in this valuable market segment around the world. Marriott has a proven track record of growing acquired brands significantly by leveraging our global development ecosystem, the benefits of our industry-leading affiliation cost structure, and the power of our award-winning Marriott Bonvoy loyalty platform." citizenM founder and chair Rattan Chadha said: "We are very excited about our agreement with Marriott and look forward to this pivotal next step for our future growth. At closing of the transaction, Marriott will pay $355 million to acquire the brand and related intellectual property.  Following closing, the citizenM portfolio will become part of Marriott's system, with the hotels owned and leased by the seller subject to new long-term franchise agreements with Marriott.  Stabilised fees for the open and under construction pipeline portfolio are anticipated to be approximately $30 million annually.  The seller may also receive earn-out payments up to $110 million that are based on the future growth of the brand over a specified, multi-year timeframe.  These payments would not begin until the fourth year following closing. Also,  closing of the transaction is subject to various customary conditions, including US regulatory approval. Assuming closing of the transaction in 2025, Marriott now expects full year 2025 net rooms growth to approach 5 percent. Morgan Stanley & Co International plc and Eastdil Secured acted as financial advisors to the seller in this transaction. The citizenM global portfolio currently consists of 36 open hotels, comprising 8,544 rooms, across more than 20 cities spanning the United States, Europe, and the Asia Pacific, including gateway cities like New York, London, Paris, and Rome.  The brand's current pipeline includes three under-construction hotels totaling over 600 rooms that are anticipated to open by mid-2026, with the prospect of significant additional growth across Marriott's global regions over the next decade.
