“Designed for the new world”: First sustainable ECOS Hotel will rise in Dubai

Hospitality Management Holding (HMH) has signed a management deal to open the world’s first ECOS Hotel in the forward-thinking city of Dubai. ECOS Hotels is an environmentally responsible budget hotel brand under the management of HMH. Aside from its unique design and hi-tech appeal, it offers a new perspective in the budget sector by focusing on eco-efficiency. Now, just in time for Expo 2020 Dubai, HMH will open a 320-room ECOS Hotel in Dubai’s Al Furjan area. The announcement came at the Arabian Travel Market which runs until today 25 April at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The new property’s goal is to become a ‘paperless’ hotel and be as efficient and self-sustaining as possible when it comes to its water and electricity consumption. The hotel will seek a LEED certification and is also planning the installation of solar panels at the property. HMH operates five core brands: Bahi Hotels & Resorts, Coral Hotels & Resorts, Corp Hotels, EWA Hotel Apartments and ECOS Hotels. The up and coming property in Dubai will be the first ECOS Hotel in the world. Image from Expo 2020 Dubai's official Facebook page “The debut of our eco-conscious practices in the hospitality sector” Brett Schafer, CEO of Faisal Holding, which owns HMH, said: “The new property being developed in the UAE will be the first ECOS in our portfolio, marking the debut of our eco-conscious practices in the hospitality sector. We are confident that with HMH’s hospitality expertise, the new ECOS will make for a competitive new attraction and prove to be a very important asset for HMH and the communities in which we operate.” With a futuristic and trendy brand, the ECOS Hotel is aimed to strengthen the company’s portfolio in the Middle East and African markets. “Designed for the new world” Aboudi Asali, CEO of HMH, added: “We are thrilled to present the group’s first environmentally responsible chain of hotels through the ECOS hotel, designed for the new world. The sustainable design philosophy of ECOS Hotels will enhance our already impressive portfolio”. According to HMH, the company is still in the final phase of the planning stage but will begin its construction within the next three months.
